Responsibilities and DutiesWHO/WHAT: Tiny stretches. Warm bottles. The quiet rhythm of caring for a newborn who just happens to prefer sleeping on Dad's chest. Some seasons of life simply call for an extra set of loving, capable hands—and this is one of them. This warm, thoughtful family is looking for an experienced nanny to bring calm, confidence, and support during this special chapter. While there is a fun-loving six-year-old in the family, this role is truly centered around their newborn daughter. Big brother will spend most of his days at school, so your primary focus will be caring for baby—feeding, soothing, rocking, encouraging healthy sleep habits, and confidently navigating all the little details that come with caring for an infant. Because she arrived early, they're hoping to find someone with significant newborn experience who understands infant cues and brings the calm confidence that naturally puts new parents at ease.
Mom works from her home office with a flexible schedule, and Dad will be taking portions of his parental leave throughout baby's first year. Rather than looking for someone to simply "take over," they're hoping to welcome a teammate—someone who naturally steps in where needed, communicates well, and helps make everyday life feel a little lighter during this season. Your days will primarily revolve around all things baby: feedings, diaper changes, tummy time when developmentally appropriate, stroller walks, reading books, singing songs, and creating a peaceful rhythm that helps this little one continue to thrive. While baby rests, you'll help with children's laundry, washing bottles, vacuuming, light dinner preparation, and keeping the children's spaces feeling organized. Every now and then, you may help with a school pickup or drop-off for big brother, but those moments will be the exception rather than the norm. He's an energetic, empathetic, creative little guy who loves swimming, wrestling, and just about anything that lets him work with his hands.
While they're anticipating around 30 hours each week, they're happy to build a schedule that works well for everyone. More than simply filling hours, they're hoping to find the right person to become part of their family's rhythm for the next year or two.
THE IDEAL NANNY IS…THE KIND OF PERSON NEW PARENTS IMMEDIATELY EXHALE AROUND. You have extensive infant experience and genuinely love those first months of life. Tiny babies don't intimidate you—they're your favorite age. You know how to recognize subtle cues, establish gentle routines, encourage healthy development, and offer reassurance when parents inevitably have questions. You're nurturing without being overbearing, experienced without being rigid, and understand that every family has its own parenting style.
You're organized, reliable, punctual, and full of common sense. You communicate openly, notice what needs to be done before being asked, and naturally work alongside parents as part of the team. You're patient, trustworthy, and calm under pressure, bringing a peaceful presence into the home even during the busiest days.
Most importantly, you recognize what a privilege it is to care for someone's brand-new baby. You understand that this season passes quickly, and you're excited to help a sweet little girl grow while supporting two parents who are simply looking for an experienced, loving teammate to walk alongside them during one of life's most meaningful chapters.
