Responsibilities and Duties
WHO/WHAT: Are you the kind of nanny who doesn’t just hold a baby — you settle them? The kind who knows that a bottle aversion isn’t a crisis, it’s a puzzle to solve with patience and experience?
A sweet Mount Washington family is searching for an infant-experienced nanny to help them navigate these tender first months of parenthood. Their daughter was born in December and is currently in a very “hold me forever” season of life. She prefers contact naps and has decided bottles are, at best, questionable. Bassinet sleep? Still under negotiation. Translation? They need a calm, capable professional who has been here before. Both parents work from home, and Dad travels frequently. Mom plans to be in and out throughout the day so she can soak up time with baby when possible. This is a very present household, so confidence, professionalism, and the ability to read a room are essential. The family is warm, flexible, and deeply devoted to their little girl. Baby is currently exclusively breastfed. Your comfort with breastmilk handling and storage — and bringing baby to Mom for feeds — will be important. Bottle introduction is in progress, and patience during this transition will go a long way. While they would love support in gently working toward more independent bassinet sleep, you must also be comfortable with contact naps during this developmental phase.
Your days will revolve around helping this tiny human thrive. That means soothing, feeding, troubleshooting bottle aversion, supporting healthy sleep habits, and filling awake windows with meaningful interaction. She already tracks everything with her eyes and turns her head toward sounds — so you’ll narrate the world, sing songs, read books, turn pages slowly, and sprinkle in tummy time. Classical music like Chopin, Brahms, and Mozart may be playing in the background (dance parties encouraged). No screens. No TV. No phones out during the day. Music? Absolutely. Engagement? Constant. During naps, you’ll help with baby laundry and washing bottles. There are no pets. One important household note: Mom has significant dairy and nut allergies, so careful handwashing and thorough cleaning after exposure to those foods is essential.
They are likely looking for 3 months of support as they evaluate a daycare transition around the six-month mark. That said, they are open to exploring longer-term options if it feels like the right fit for everyone. Stability and thoughtful care during this season matter deeply to them.
The Ideal Nanny IS…INFANT-EXPERIENCED. Not “I babysat my cousin once” experienced. True newborn-season, rhythm-establishing, sleep-supporting, bottle-troubleshooting experienced. You are warm and loving — but also competent and confident. You understand wake windows. You know how to gently coach a baby through transitions. You don’t panic when things feel messy. You’re reliable and punctual (because working parents depend on you). You’re nurturing and interactive. You genuinely love babies — and it shows. You’re intuitive about working in a home with parents present. You know when to step back and when to step in. These are first-time parents who want someone they can trust completely — someone who will love their daughter almost as much as they do. If you feel called to this beautiful, early chapter of babyhood…Then APPLY today. this baby is ready for you. 💛
