Responsibilities and Duties

  • WHO/WHAT: This family isn’t simply looking for after-school help — they’re looking for someone who understands how life-changing steady structure can be for children.

A devoted single mom in Squirrel Hill is raising two bright, spirited children whose early stories include adoption, loss, and significant transitions. She is parenting with deep intentionality — investing in therapy, support systems, and rhythms that help her children grow and heal. What she needs now is a skilled, steady partner to help carry that work forward during the daily hours when kids are tired, emotions are bigger, and consistency matters most.

This role is best suited for a seasoned professional who understands trauma-informed care and feels confident leading with both warmth and clear boundaries.

The children are active, creative, and full of personality. They love movement, soccer, being outdoors, and imaginative play. They also experience big feelings and require close supervision, thoughtful structure, and proactive guidance — particularly around sibling dynamics. Predictability and calm leadership help them thrive.

Mom is juggling school, work, and solo parenting with incredible perseverance. She isn’t looking for someone to “babysit.” She is looking for a true teammate — someone experienced enough to help create safety, emotional regulation, and steady routines inside the home.

    Your days will include:
            • Close, engaged supervision
            • Supporting therapeutic strategies already in place
            • Driving to activities and appointments
            • Homework support
            • Structured play and movement
            • Light household support (dinner prep, dishes, laundry, general tidying)
            • Calm, consistent evening transitions

Above all, this home values consistency, emotional steadiness, and thoughtful leadership.

Because of the level of supervision and emotional guidance required, this position is best suited for a nanny with at least five years of professional experience and prior work supporting children with behavioral, emotional, or trauma-related needs. Experience collaborating with therapists or implementing therapeutic strategies is strongly preferred.

The Ideal Nanny IS

• A seasoned professional with 5+ years of full-time nanny experience
         • Experienced in trauma-informed care, adoption dynamics, ADHD, and/or emotional regulation challenges
         • Comfortable providing close supervision and proactively managing sibling conflict
         • Calm and grounded — especially during heightened emotional moments
         • Firm, kind, and confident holding clear boundaries
         • Skilled in co-regulation and teaching emotional regulation
         • Collaborative with therapists and open to implementing recommended strategies
         • CPR/First Aid certified with a clean driving record
         • Emotionally mature, steady, and resilient

Background in behavioral support, education, psychology, social work, or therapeutic settings is highly valued.

This is meaningful, important work. For the right caregiver — one who feels called to invest deeply and lead with both compassion and confidence — this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in two children’s lives.

If you believe that love and boundaries go hand in hand, and you’re ready to step into a home that values strength wrapped in warmth, we would love to hear from you.
