Job Summary

*House Cleaner/Household Manager Position*

Pittsburgh, PA | Fox Chapel

• Start Date: August 1st, 2025
• Hours: Guaranteed 24 hours/week; ideally 8 am - 2 pm, 3 days/week M,W,F
• Hourly Rate: $30-32/hr
• Four Kids: Ages 5-11
• Pets: 3 dogs and 1 cat
• Flu Shot Preferred
• Paid Vacation: Prorated for 10-week mat leave.

Responsibilities and Duties

• WHO/WHAT: Do you love being part of a child’s world, but prefer supporting the family from behind the scenes—with just a touch of childcare? We have a much-loved East Wind Nannies family of six needing 10 weeks of maternity leave coverage for their long-term household manager, and she’s set the bar pretty high! There’s Mom, Dad, four kiddos between five and 11, three dogs, and one cat. Using the family’s cleaning products, you’ll mop, you’ll fold, you’ll buff, you’ll shop, keeping this home sparkling and running smoothly. You’ll work three days per week, ideally Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between the hours of 8 am and 2 pm, taking care of tasks on a rotating schedule. The dailies include the usual suspects of laundry, keeping high-traffic places like the kitchen and bathrooms vacuumed and tidy. These areas will get extra care weekly, plus, you’ll add items like watering the plants, dusting baseboards, washing linens, picking up the dry cleaning, grocery shopping, and running other errands. Like an expiry date detective, you’ll spy inside the fridge and pantry to toss out icky food. Pet care will also be limited to feeding the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and one-year-old German Shepherd, letting them in and out, washing their bedding, plus the occasional trip to the vet. You can expect other monthly or as-needed tasks, such as changing the lightbulbs, taking the car for oil changes, decorating—and undecorating—for holidays, organizing and coordinating with vendors. As mentioned, the youngest is five and this role will include childcare, but very infrequently when the adults have to briefly step out. We’ve worked with this family for years and can verify that you’ll be valued and treated with respect.
